In the unregulated coach training industry, grand titles, pseudo-qualifications, meaningless accreditations and self-appointed global thought leaders abound. Anyone can call themselves a Master Certified Credentialed Coach. Anyone can set up a coach training organisation, and anyone can teach coaching.

The use of executive coaching could be waning. That is the finding of a US survey which found that the coaching of corporate executives may have passed its peak.

Just 13% of the HR professionals who took part in this research say they formally measure the return on their investment (ROI) in coaching. That leaves 67% who can’t be bothered and 20% who don’t know.
